EXPLORE PROJECT REPORTING
It’s important that the EXPLORE team knows how students and staff are getting on with their projects. Why? So that we can offer support if necessary, provide updates about the EXPLORE Initiative and document progress for our sponsors.
What you need to do
We don’t want project teams to be weighed down with paperwork, so we’ve tried to make the reporting process as efficient as possible. Each EXPLORE project team needs to submit three mini updates during the course of their project.
We ask that you provide us with three short updates via email over the course of your project. Tell us what activities you’ve undertaken and generally how the project is progressing. The updates can comprise a brief paragraph of text, or take the form of a short video (please supply URL).
Each project group is asked to produce a poster about their work. These posters will be exhibited at the EXPLORE celebration in mid-May 2016 and around campus at various events during 2016 and 2016. The aim of the posters is to tell the story of each project – in other words, to provide a snapshot of your project or a visual elevator pitch.
Poster guidelines
Size: A1 format
Orientation: Portrait or landscape
IT Programme: Use whatever IT programme you are comfortable with and have access to…PowerPoint, Publisher, Photoshop, InDesign…
Required elements: All posters must contain:
– The EXPLORE footer graphic
– A clearly legible project title
– The names of the student and staff project partners
– Contact information (email address, website address, Facebook page…you decide)
Structure: It’s up to you how you structure your poster.
Printing and laminating: Your poster should be printed in A1 format and matt laminated, and then dropped into the Students’ Union reception in Áras na Mac Léinn by the end of April 2016. PrintThat have agreed to offer a reduced printing and laminating rate of €22 (usually €27) when you mention EXPLORE. Your poster should be paid for using your EXPLORE funding.
Communication tips
– Assume people looking at your poster know nothing about your project
– Remember to get the balance right between text and graphics
